About Britnz
Britnz is part of Weeping Ash Ltd, a family business established in 2005.
Our launch of this range of reproduction stoneware came about as a result of searching for such items for our own house and garden. Most of the items we found didn't look 'authentic' and were either poorly made or of uninspiring design.
When we discovered a wonderful source of designs made by a group of craftsmen in a small workshop in the south of England we decided to market them ourselves.
We are the only retail outlet for these products in the Hertfordshire/West Essex region.
About Our Designs...
These are based on authentic patterns, mostly from Britain and France, sometimes adapted by additional sculpting to provide sizes and shapes suitable for domestic and architectural use. All the moulds we use are made in the UK, by hand.
There are contemporary, traditional and playful designs also, to compliment the historic range. Please do feel free to contact us through this site, or by telephone or e-mail, if you have any questions about our products.
About Our Products...
Our products are individually made by hand in the UK and each piece may have its own innate imperfections, adding to its charm; no two pieces of the same pattern are ever identical.
They are then finished by hand also, to produce a ready-made patina of age, and our exterior items will continue to weather gracefully if exposed to the elements.
All our items (with the exception of mirrors) are made from a heavy natural stone-like composite and are weatherproof for all-year-round exterior use.
Our fine-detailed mirrors are made of a plaster composite and are for interiors, conservatories, or sheltered patios.
Most items can be supplied to order (approximately two-week lead time) in a variety of styles, including weathered or un-weathered white/grey, cotswold and terra-cotta. Our leaflet shows a small selection.
